An owner’s representative advises and acts on behalf of an owner standing for their best interests within the development of a real-estate project. The scope of services that an owner’s representative covers are often throughout each phase of a project; helping to establish the owner’s goals and objectives in terms of budget, schedule, design, functionality and quality. These become the anchors that guide the decision-making process throughout the entire design and construction process.

Once the project scope has been determined, the next step for the owner’s representative is to help assemble the project team: architects, developers, consultants, contractors, attorneys, accountants, etc. This could include the development of requests for proposals (RFP) and a thorough analysis of RFP responses, as well as assistance in the allotment of contracts and the optimization of resources.
